No results for query with "'" (single quote)

Background: Trying to use the Search API to link my Last.fm scrobbles to Spotify, with the ultimate goal of creating playlists etc.

Searching a track with query artist:"The Human League" track:"Don't You Want Me" yields no results, whereas the same query without the ' does yield the expected results.  

What is the correct way to search for tracks containing '?

How are you sending requests? It could be that the way in which you send the request is not encoding the ' correctly. Try the query again with the encoded version of ' (%27) and see if that works?

I'm sending requests through R (httr-package) but verified that the requested url encodes ' as %27. The query also yields no results when it is sent through the Web Console which leads my to believe the problem does not lie with R or httr.

@MartenMM it does not work if you use keyword matching like `track:"Don't You Want Me"` but if you try `artist:"The Human League" "Don't You Want Me"` it should work.

Although there is definitely a bug
