Recommendations API: new-release seedgenre generating old songs

My Question or Issue

I'm developing an app to create spotify playlists with help from the Spotify API.
I'm using both the search and recommendations API route to do this, but when using the 

NEW-RELEASE seed genre to get recommendations of newly released songs... I get songs from 2015. It seems like the results from this is not really up to date.

Could you fix this so that we get recent songs instead of these old songs??

This is the most valuable seed genre for me, so it would be nice if the API actually responded with the correct data
would be awesome if it actually worked
