Am I being scammed???

Am I being scammed???

My wife's account was randomly changed from a student account to a normal premium one.  When she called to figure out why the person on the line asked her to purchase an iTunes gift card and to call him back with the info from the card because our "IP address was compromised."  

 

This seems super fishy.

Hey There!

I doubt Spotify would ask for a gift card of their competetors service. Also, IP address probably has nothing to do with this. This sounds like a scam and I recommend talking to Spotify about both the itunes gift card and your student/regular premium account issue. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I am sorry to hear about this. 

 

Spotify at present do not offer any form of phone support. As such I would always recommend never to give out personal or financial information to these numbers.

 

I am also very sorry to learn that someone else has gained access to your account and as a result has upgraded it. Please check out the FAQ page here, for the next steps I'd recommend taking.

 

The right team will then reunite you with your music shortly and help more backstage!
