Can't Activate 30 Day Trial or Buy Premium

Solved!

Can't Activate 30 Day Trial or Buy Premium

So I just began using Spotify, kinda new to the whole thing

I tried activating the 30 day trial thing, but it simply doesn't work! My debit card is Maestro so it's not accepted, and upon trying Paypal, it appears to work but then it just redirects me back to the main premium page like I didn't really do anything.

Alternatively I tried getting the student discount but for whatever reason, Paypal is not available there.

I wanted to use Spotify to play music during my livestreams without awkward ads in my mother tongue just interrupting the flow of it.

I'm getting second thoughts about using this program since I can't even fix something as simple as this.

I await for a solution.

I'd recommend using another payment method. You can find all the available payment methods here 🙂

Since you're trying to use a debit card, you can sign up via Paysafecard, which is a pre-paid payment method that doesn't qualify for the trial.

Hey @MonoShuga,

Thanks for reaching out.

Has your PayPal account been used for Spotify payments in the past (e.g. by another person)? If so, you won't be able to claim the trial using this payment method.

Lastly, Spotify is currently intended for personal use only. Due to licensing, it’s not possible to publicly broadcast music from your personal account.

Uhm... Thinking about it, a few years back, a friend who didn't have Paypal did ask me to lend my account so she could buy Premium.

Could that be the reason I can't get the trial? Why doesn't it just let me buy it either?

Yep, that's definitely the issue. Each payment method can only be claimed once to claim an intro offer 🙂

I can't understand why it does not allow me to normally buy for myself though.

I can understand why the trial wouldn't work, but it should still let me buy it, no?

Am I just stuck like this now??

I suppose that's the closest I'll get

I find it quite the impractical situation, but I appreciate your help still

Thank you
