My Question or Issue

I have been a member of a premium family plan for well over 5 years now. Last week, out of nowhere, the app said my payment had failed and refused the working card I set onto it on the go. I figured maybe it was a bad connection on my phone, pushed it aside to settle later and totally forgot about it until tonight - when it kicked me (and my family members) out of the plan. Figuring I just had to re-enter the card details, I logged back in, filled the information and it restarted my plan - meaning no one from my family is in it anymore.

Due to University, I am away from home, in another country. Spotify said no one from my family could join as we weren't in the same address (pulling the same as Netflix?) and I resigned into changing my Premium plan from family to student. After being confirmed as one via the uni login, Spotify won't allow me to switch plans. No matter how many times I click on "change plans" on my account, it never goes through.

TL/DR: Want to switch from family plan to singular student and Spotify won't allow me to, on the accounts of not being eligible, even though the website itself says I am.

What can I do?

Hey @ArtemisRabello,

Thanks for reaching out.

In this case, you'll need to cancel your current subscription and wait for it to end. Once it has ended, you should be able to subscribe to Premium Student. 🙂

Also, just so you know: all members of a Premium Family plan must reside at the same address as the plan owner, and since you're currently living away from home, you're not eligible for it at this time.

I hope this clears things up!
