[Canada] Troubles Redeeming Google Home Mini

My Question or Issue

When going to https://www.spotify.com/ca-en/googlehome/redeem/ to redeem my google home mini, after being a premium subscriber for years, I am greeted with "We're sorry but you're not able to redeem at this moment." 

I notice this seems to be an ongoing issue for US customers and also can't help but notice I never received an email advertising this promotion.  This seems like a huge attempt to grab new customers while shafting your existing ones pretending like it's an error or bug when it is simply just not part of your plan to accomodate existing customers.  Please provide a solution and not just links to the same redeem pages over and over which seemed to be all that was done for US customers.

I just wanted to confirm what a few other users have already said in this thread: the offer in Canada ended early on 17 April.

Hey all,

 

So we've currently launched the Google Home Mini offer for US citizens. Both Premium Individual and Premium Family users can apply. Users that have the Student Discount are not eligible.

 

You can find detailed info about the offer here.

 

If you live outside of the US we recommend keeping an eye out for any future offers we might have. In the meantime we will be closing this topic as not to confuse users with info from previous offers.

The promotion is now over unfortunately. Spotify obviously did not updated
their application / website.

We, here at the Community of Spotify Users cannot do a single
thing about that.

I am having the same issue. I just downgraded from the family plan to premium plan for the Google Home mini promotion. When I am trying to redeem the Google Home mini from the link https://www.spotify.com/ca-en/googlehome/redeem/ , I get the message "It looks like you've not registered your interest for this offer yet." with a Register Now buton. On clicking the button, it takes me to the home page with no error or success message. What should I make of this?

That was my issue and as per Web Chat Support with Spotify, the stock has been exhausted and promotion has been ended on April 17th.

We are out of luck, and we downgraded for nothing.  In my case i will keep my personal plan and will not return to a family plan. I may cancel and switch to Youtube music subscription anyhow and buy the home mini on a discount somewhere else.

As i was saying chances are that no one who hasn' or clicked the link on or
after 4pm eastern on april 17th will be SOL. Even if the link has been
provided to them before that date.

I've been trying to register for the Google Mini and the links provided on the forum only redirect me to the main page for Spotify. How can I redeem? I don't see the option anywhere...

I have some bad news. Earlier in this post someone replied that the
@spotifycares confirm to then that the promotion was over.

Supply lasted until April 17th. Where the date magically moved to the 14th
in the evening... Since then people have been having issues.

I see that... My point was that I got an email from Spotify yesterday,
telling me to redeem the Google Home Mini...That's when this journey
started for me.

Hello All,
I signed up for premium while the promo was on. I never got the email for
the google home mini, but knew from notices on Spotify's website they were
having trouble sending out the redemption email. After many days of trying
to resolve this issue I found Spotify online chat (I don't use twitter).
You can access it here

you need to log into your account to access it.

I chatted with this support and they basicly told me to bad they couldn't
do anything and that the promo is now ended. I asked to be escalated to
someone that could. They did that and said I would be contacted with in
two days.

I did get an email back 24 hours later asking for more details on my
issue. A few emails back and forth over a few days and they sent me a new
link with the promo code. The link didn't work, however when I coppied the
promo code out of url link and went to canadian google store, i added home
mini to basket and applied the code when I went to check out. It worked
and sais it will be delivered June 11-12. Fingers crossed.

Trying my luck with this now through chat, and getting similar responses. Very politely advising that there's nothing they can do and that they'll send my feedback to the right people.

 

I'm actually pretty frustrated about this, I've been a paying member for years and I never even got the email for this promo, only heard through social media and have had such a hard time with it ever since.

I just signed up for Spotify Premium -- following a link that offered a free Google Home Mini.  I've yet to recieve any email asking me to confirm that the offer even existed.  We have started a relationship and the fastest thing to kill a relationship is the lack of communication - good or bad... talk to us

Unless there are Spotify employees here, your best bet is Twitter to
@spotifycares.

Twitter is the one, the only one way (lord of the rings get out) of
communicating to the right people.

Funny, the email states it expires in May, and also they never said this in the many emails back n forth.

Originally the promotion was supposed to end on May 9th. If you read in the
previous pages you'll know what they did on April17 th in the afternoon.
For some reason i think that mist you who didn't got the product subscribed
on that date. Am I mistaken?

I got the email while in the states, April 4-14, so it was originally done before the 17th. I was logged in using my main Gmail account when in the store, and yet I was charged and code was set to "redeemed" on theri end. Just a crappy system I guess.
