Cancelling after 3 years

After 3 years on a premium plan I’m moving on.

Happily listening to my podcast when Spotify automatically logs me out.  It’s been so long since I logged in I’ve forgotten my password, only problem is, Spotify was linked to my Facebook account which is now closed.

The twitter support team refuse to respond to my requests for help, so therefore I’ve decided to move to Apple Music.

Now, can please someone help me cancel my account??

Alternatively, I can call my bank and cancel the payments that way??

Hey @kidguitar2000, thank you for reaching out!

For this particular case, I would encourage you to reach out to support through the anonymous contact form. So long as you are entirely logged out of Spotify.com (alternatively, you can access the form through an incognito window/private browsing) the form will allow you to use an email of your choosing for correspondence.

If you would prefer to not use the contact form, or require an alternative means of contact, you can always reach out to @SpotifyCares on twitter, or the Spotify Cares Facebook page.

I hope this helps!

It is possible to recover your account, and reset your password, even though your Facebook account is closed. If you connect with Spotify support, you can use your bank account statements to prove that the account is yours, and they can link it to your current e-mail address. This will allow you to reset the password.

Hey there @kidguitar2000,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community. No worries, help's here!

If you still have access to the email address registered on your Spotify account, you can reset its password as @KossB suggested by heading here. This way, you can continue logging in your Spotify account using your email and new password, instead of the LOG IN WITH FACEBOOK button.

After that, you can follow the steps to cancel your subscription or close your account.

If you'd like to keep your Spotify account but disconnect your Facebook profile from it once you access to your account again, take a look at this Spotify Answer for more info.

Please note that your displayed Spotify username will be a string of numbers instead of your display name if you disconnect your Facebook profile from your Facebook-created Spotify account.

Let us know how you get on! We'll be right here if you need more help or have any questions.

Have a lovely day 🙂
