Change from a Family premium plan to another Family premium plan

Change from a Family premium plan to another Family premium plan

Hi, I'm part of a Family premium plan for years now, but, in the last 2 years, many things changed. I want to quit the actual Family premium plan I'm in because the administrator is my ex boyfriend. 2 other members of the Premium family plan come with me. As for the new 3 members, one is my daugther and one is my son's new boyfriend, both of them in a Premium duo plan. And my mother (83 yrs old!), now living with us, would be a new member of Spotify. How do we proceed in details in order not to loose any music lists, favorites or downloads? Help please. Thank you.

Hey there,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

First of all, you keep your playlists and saved music when your account is free. 🙂

In your case, I would do it as follows:

  1. Leave the current Premium Family plan you're part of (the plan owner needs to remove you by following these steps)
  2. Your daughter and your son's new boyfriend should also be on Spotify Free. If they're not the plan owners, they'll have to ask the owner of the plan to remove them. Keep in mind that they only can switch Duo/Family plans once every 12 months.
  3. You can then subscribe to Premium Family here and invite them by following the steps linked above.
  4. Your mother can, of course, also join your Premium Family plan 🙂 She'll need to sign up for an account to be able to join your Premium Family plan.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help.
