Charged the normal premium individual fee (11 eu) when student subscription is active

My Question or Issue

I'd like to get my money back and just fix this, I've verified it 2 months ago and I've been charged 11 euros instead of 6.

Thanks for coming to the Community.

After verifiying yourself as a student, you'll also need to activate the discount, as can be seen here and in your screenshot ("Choose Your Plan"):

To activate the discount now, you'll need to open www.spotify.com/student again and follow the steps until the end. 🙂

Thanks, I think it worked.

But why has this changed? it used to be one time only. Even the entire way how it just automatically extends into premium individual subscription without any notifications or mails after 12 months is awful, predatory even. Easily already cost me like 20-30 euros extra for no reason at all.

I don't know when and why it changed (if it was different at some point), but it's been this way for at least a few months now. 🙂

If you don't renew your student verification, your plan will automatically switch back to Premium Individual. You can find some more info about this here.
