Current Premium account holder and Rogers free 6 month promotion

I've been a Premium user for almost a year. I moved my cell phone package to a Share Everything with Rogers and I get 6 month free Spotify Premium.

Rogers won't let me link my Spotify account because the 6 months free is for "new" Spotify Premium accounts.

How can I get around this? I don't want to have to create a new account and port all my songs and playlists, but I can't get the two accounts to link.
