Feeling Duped by Family Plan with Audiobooks

Feeling Duped by Family Plan with Audiobooks

Hello,

I'm the plan manager for my family, and I think my account was automatically moved from the basic family plan to the audiobook family plan at some point. Now when I try to downgrade to the basic family plan again, it tells me I'm not eligible.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with this if the audiobooks being offered were available to stream. I'm trying to make the best of being stuck in this new plan, but a majority of the books I would hope to stream require separate additional purchases to add to my account!

What is the purpose of paying for the higher priced tier when I still need to pay additional fees to listen to books I'm interested in? And is there no way to filter search results to only show results that I have access to?

Hey @kputschko,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

A change in plans isn’t something that should happen automatically—it only occurs if the subscription is canceled or updated manually through the account page.

Since this seems unexpected, I’d recommend getting in touch with Spotify’s Customer Support team. They’ll be able to check things out backstage and provide more details on what’s going on.

Let me know if you need help with anything else 🙂
