From Premium to Premium with Student Discount

Hi,

I recently saw there is a discount for students, but I was using premium for a normal regular price already. I used this link https://www.spotify.com/us/student/ to update my acount from regular premium to premium with student discount and I was asked to fill the card details again and that's what I did. Unfortunately I got charged twice, 10 pounds (as a regular premium) and 5 pounds (as a premium with student discount). Both payments happened at the same time, which is today, 2017-04-30.

No matter if student verification was successful or failed, a temporary charge goes through. These are only temporary charges on your credit card and they should disappear in a few days. The only charge that you actually have to pay for is if you were successfully verified for the student discount.

Is your billing date for the normal premium usually the 30th of the month? That is probably why it was charged today.

Since it was already too late and the charge for regular premium already happened, this student discount charge will disappear even if you are approved for the student discount. When it comes time for the billing date next month (May 30) you will be charged at the student rate $4.99. 

If the student discount charge happens to go through anyway, then you will not have to pay next month when it comes time to bill. It will see that you paid for 2 months today.
