My Question or Issue

I have Spotify Premium Family, paid for via Google Play.

 

Two weeks ago, I downgraded my plan to Basic Family in the spotify App, starting from next billing cycle (6th September), and that shows as the pending renewal in Google Play.

 

But now I have cold feet and want to stick with Premium Family.

 

In Google Play, I am told that I will be downgraded on 6th September, and to use the Spotify App to change my subscription.

 

In the Spotify App, it says I am still Family Premium, and offers me the chance to downgrade to Family Basic, Duo, Student, etc. But no option to cancel my previous change to Basic and keep my Premium Family.

 

How can I stop the change to Family Basic, please?

Hey @coldcoffeesaturday,

 

Thanks for coming to the Communify.

 

You can cancel your subscription through the Account Overview page by following these steps. When you cancel your subscription, you'll also cancel the planned switch to the Basic plan. 

 

After you've done that, you should be able to re-subscribe straight away on this page and get a regular Premium Family plan.

 

Alternatively, after you cancel your subscription, you can wait until your account reverts back to Free and then you can re-subscribe again if you want to be on the safe side. Just keep in mind that members of the plan will have to be invited again if you decide to do it this way.

 

Lastly, keep in mind that doing any of those things will make you ineligible for the Basic plan in the future.
