I have a 1 year subscription through a gift card. Can I change it to duo?

I had purchased an annual subscription using a gift card, which will expire in October. I would like to add more people to my membership. Is it possible to only pay the difference or to get a refund on the remaining amount of money of my gift card?

Thanks for reaching out. 

Yes, you can switch to Duo at any time. Partial refunds and paying out differences aren't options for Spotify, so instead what will happen is that when you switch, the expiry date will be pulled forward and the total Premium time shortened to compensate for the price difference. After the period paid for with the gift card expires, you will be charged normally through the payment method you've entered when switching to Duo. Be advised that after that point, a Duo subscription cannot be paid with gift cards, those are for Individual only.
