Left housemate's family plan, join girlfriend's duo plan?

Solved!

Left housemate's family plan, join girlfriend's duo plan?

Plan

Free

Country

UK

I was previously subscribed to a housemate's family plan, as we were living under the same roof. I moved out, and switched to the Free plan. I am now moving into my girlfriend's residence, and she has invited me to her Duo plan - however it just says I can't join and must wait 12 months. Is there a way to solve this?

Thank you.

Hello @leon433!

Unfortunately, you can only switch Family/Duo plans once every 12 months. Since you were part of a Family plan in the past 12 month you would have to wait until the 12 months are over to join a different plan.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

I'm having a similar issue. My wife and I were part of my sister and BiL's family plan. We moved out, then recently were dropped from the plan for having a different address. (Maybe it should be called Same House Plan instead of Family Plan?) Anyway, I signed up for the Duo plan, thinking we could just have our own account, and it's not letting me add her. Why was I able to change plans but not her? Also, if I can't add her, I need a refund on this, because the only other 2 residing with us are cats, and they don't have phones. Also, not sure if this is related, but when I go into her account/account details, it shows her plan is Premium, but there's nothing showing for Billing, she still has ads, and the home menu has a link saying to get premium. So, what do you recommend?

Hi there @Koalaloha,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

If the address verification fails or a user misses the 7 day window, they can still go to spotify.com/premium to see other plans they’re eligible for. You were able to change plans, since you technically started a new subscription on your account, whereas your wife attempted to join an existing plan.

Regarding her account details, it's possible that she has another Spotify account. This article goes over a few things you can try in order to locate it, so feel free to check it out.

Hope you get this sorted out. Cheers!

My Question or Issue
