Legal use in office

So we are a non-profit and at the front desk, we wanted to play music to help the atmosphere for those in the building passing by, our front desk, and an occasional guest. We are international so the office is more for support but we may get a donor in from time to time. Is it considered a "performance" or is it fine to play in that setting as more of a homestyle exemption in this particular situation?
