Mid-subscription Change for Student Discounts

I subscribed for the first time ever to Spotify (the plan was P129 for three months.) Then school enrolment came. I was at the halfway point of my subscription when I knew there was a student discount, so I ecstatically subscribed to the discount. The question is, will my still current subscription charge me 129 after it ends, or will it top up (will I be charged 189)? If it won't top up, when will my discount apply?

The discounted rate will automatically begin on your next billing date. You can check the status of your subscription at any time, you'll only pay for the active plan.
