My new credit card cannot be used for payment

I'm trying to change my payment method from my existing credit card to a new one, and I receive an error message that my "payment method does not match my land" or something (original: "Deine Zahlungsmethode passt nicht zu deinem Land."), despite this being a normal credit card and me passing the bank's authorization step.

I need to use this new credit card. Anyone knows what is this error about?

I'd assume it might have to do with me/my account being in Germany and the card issuer being in the UK, but the card I'm using until today is also non-Germany-issued and Spotify accepts it without trouble.
