Not able to change to Premium Duo

I just changed my payment method to a different card (issued by a different country - I moved from Switzerland to Hungary) and simultaneously I was trying to change from Premium to Premium Duo.

Firstly, I am not able to change to Premium Duo due to an "unknown error", secondly the price Spotify shows differs on 2 pages. One shows 16.95 CHF while the other one features 6.49 EUR (see attached snips).

 

So my questions are: how can I change to Duo and what is the real price of it in Hungary?

Thanks for the reply.

 

On your next billing date the country of your account should automatically switch to Hungary, and you'll be charged the hungarian price for Premium Individual.

 

After that is done, you can go into your Account Page > Available plans and you should be able to choose Premium Duo from there. Once you you do this, your Premium plan witll automatically switch to Premium duo and you'll be able to invite another person into the plan.

Welcome to the Community and thanks for bringing this up with us.

 

 

We did have an Ongoing issue with what you seem to be experiencing with switching subscriptions and generally changing account details.  

 

That should be fixed now, you can take a look here for more info. Feel free to try again in an incognito window to be on the safe side that no saved cache should be causing any trouble.

 

Spotify prices vary by region for a variety of reasons like currency rates and rights legislation and and to start a subscription you need a payment method that was issued in the country you're currently in and is registered on your account. So if you're in Hungary you need to make sure that country is registered on your profile and that you enter in a card that is native to Hungary.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the issue persists. I finally managed to update the payment details, used a local card and set Hungary as country, but "my country" is still shown as Switzerland I am not able to change that.

Hi @Gaczel,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop here!

If you've updated your payment info using a local payment method successfully, then all should be fine! The change of region/location of your profile will be reflected after your next payment has been processed, and the actual due date you can check in your account's overview page.

That still does not solve the problem that I cannot change to Premium Duo. If I understand correctly how the system works, I will only be able to change my subscription once the first payment will be initiated from my updated card and the location changes as well (since it will change the price). Correct?
