Bear in mind that this can happen if the payment method you used to subscribe has already been used for purchasing a free trial. This might have been on another account, in the past. If it is so, the system recognizes the payment method and doesn't allow you to use it again for a free trial. You can read more here in the Charged for a free trial? section.
