Premium subscription using redeemed credits from Spotify card

I purchased a Spotify card and redeemed it for Premium subscription and I'm not getting it. It keeps telling me to update my payment info. Now it has my premium paused and wont let me play anything at all. I tried using the same card thinking that it didnt work the first time and it says it isnt valid.

If you've already added the giftcard to the Spotify account, but you can't use any Premium benefits, try cancelling the current subscription.

This way, the system will stop trying to process the payment with your card and start using the giftcard instead.
