Hey @biggbonger, and welcome to the community.

Hope you're doing great!

Can you try this using a different browser or incognito mode? If that doesn't help, please send me a screenshot of the error message being shown (make sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the community).

Let me know how this goes 🙂

Tried 2 different browsers, both incognito or private. The error just says,
'Payment failed. Try again or use a different method. '
I've cancelled my subscription and tried that too. This was a hassle last
time and cant remember how i solved it. Just waiting for my bank to add
funds to paypal and do it that way I guess.

Hey @biggbonger.

Gotcha! Also, are you trying to pay for Premium for Students or Premium for Family - or just regular Premium?

Keep me updated 🙂

Was trying premium for one. I ended up using my bank debit card on paypal.
Forgot my bank card has visa debit, think that's what I did last time.
Thanks.

Still don't know why prepaid vanilla visa won't work though.

Hey @biggbonger.

Great question! A few possible reasons this may have happened including:

  • Country of account doesn't match the country of the card
  • The card doesn't have enough funds

If you'd like to try again - I'd recommend following these steps to see if they help resolve your issue 🙂

Tried all those steps. Signed out all devices, tried on each device one by
one, cancelled subscription and tried that too. Purchased card in Canada, I
live in Canada, card has full amount on it..only purchased it for spotify.
Guy at Visa tried saying something about it not supporting recurring
subscriptions? Was too hard to understand him. Anyway, like I say, used my
bank debit on paypal...not my bank account, but entered my bank card as a
credit card...worked right away.
Won't use those cards in the future I guess although that is my preferred
method and don't see why it won't work.
Thanks for help though.

Hey @biggbonger.

Ah, that makes sense!

Cards used for a Premium subscription need to be suitable for recurring payments. Since your Visa representative said the card doesn't support recurring payments - you won't be able to use the card for Premium.

I hope this helps! 🙂

Noticed this though. When my ps4 is in 'Appear Offline' mode, and I start
Spotify on it, I often get an 'Error connecting to playstation network.'
Once I change my status appearance to 'Online', it's good again. I believe
I was in that mode when trying to renew so maybe some kind of conflict
there? Just hoping I guess. AI'll try again next month maybe use Mastercard
instead because I'm sure prepaid vanilla cards did work before and it says
they should so.. I'm still determined to find the fix lol. Thanks again.
