Renewing Spotify Premium - Payment

Hello,

Earlier today I went online to renew my Spotify Premium subscription. Previously I had paid for one and later three months at a time using iDeal (online banking). However, when I went to renew my account today, I was told to pay one single cent (€0,01) to Spotify to verify my account. Firstly, this has never happened to me before. Previously I could just pay the amount of money I owed Spotify and I was done. Secondly, this just comes off like an online scam would. Why can't I just pay for one or three months like before?

Kicking this up. Would like some clarification.

Edit: Also, my bank's payment page which is normally in Dutch now turned English while the buttons (Confirm, next step etc) stayed in Dutch. That has never happened before.
