My Question or Issue

I decided to buy premium due to the engagement promotion [ Miss Premium? Get 3 months for $9.99 ] email. I went and pay for the premium and during this process the page did not mentioned any issue or problem with my account so I proceeded with the transaction.

After the confirmation, I reviewed my account and saw the premium was for only 1 month instead of the 3 as described on the email and page. The Page has this text "Come back to premium: 3 months for $9.99" and a button that said "Resume Premium".

In the span of 1 min, I did the cancellation because this is not what was promised but still got charged even thought I cancelled. There is basically no way to cancel transactions.

This practice from Spotify to trick people into a promotion and not being straight to their users is really bad.

I have spent the past 1 hr to contact support but that is currently non existent their support page has this red banner :
"We're currently getting a lot of contacts so may be slow to respond. For quicker help, search our support articles or visit community help (currently only in English)."

Hey @User9101,

Thanks for the post.

We're sorry to hear that this has happened.

To be eligible and able to benefit from this offer you need to have cancelled your Premium Plan before the 29th of September 2021.

Let us know if that's the case.

This makes no sense. If you didn't understand the problem just read again or ask for clarification.

As an user how do you know when was the date you last cancelled premium?

Go to your profile and tell me how can you figure this date out?

Telling me that i need to keep track of my previous cancellation is just another way to not take responsibility. Or if this is the condition why Spotify is not letting the user know before they upgraded to premium that X promotion will NOT apply or be valid because Y or Z reasons? Or even more why sending an email promotion if i am not even qualified?

You are just thinking from the corporation perspective. Just be on the customer shoes for once

In addition, there must be a way to cancel subscription within 24 hrs or something like that. Not letting customer to cancel is just another red flag from a bad business practice.

The fast that i cancelled just 1 min after and still i got charged is wrong.

Hey @User9101,

Thanks for the replies.

Let us clarify - the Offer to receive 3 months of Premium for the price of one is intended for Spotify customers who've had Premium in the past, however cancelled their plan for some reason.

This offer will only be available if you've cancelled your Premium plan at any time before the 29th of September 2021.

If you've had Premium after this date and have cancelled afterwards, you won't be able to benefit from the offer and in turn, you'll receive one month of Premium for the price of $9.99.

You can always check your previous receipts on your Profile for exact dates.

If you believe you deserve a refund, you can find more information in this Article.

Take care.
