Spotify attempted a bank charge without permission

Spotify attempted a bank charge without permission

My bank reported an attempted charge to my account for Spotify.  I did not approve and now my card has been locked.  Not ideal.  If this was Spotify attempting, this does not create a good customer experience nor excite me to come back to Spotify as a premium customer.  If it was a hack, I changed my password again to cover that base.

Sorry to hear that this has happened to you.

 

Can you let us know if you've signed up for a trial of Spotify Premium recently? If you sign up for the free trial month and did not cancel the subscription during the 30 day trial period, the subscription becomes a recurring Premium subscription for which you'd be charged every month.

 

If that's not the case, the charges could be indeed fraudulent, in which case it would be best to contact your bank.
