My Question or Issue

I am trying to update my Spotify payment method as the card currently on my account is expiring soon. My account says I am located in the US, which is correct; however when I input my card it says "your payment method and country don't match." But they should match.

The card I am using is a new Discover credit card that I activated yesterday. This card was issued in the US and is registered with my address here. The error message doesn't say which country it thinks my card is registered in.

I have tried an incognito page with no luck. I need to use this card for payment and for budget tracking purposes I do not want to go through PayPal to pay.

I also can't figure out how to speak to a real person at Spotify support for assistance on this.

Hey @claireschoenfeld,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

I recommend checking out the following support article about failed payments: https://support.spotify.com/article/failed-payment/.

You'll need make sure to turn on all settings needed in order for the payment to be processed. Your card issuer should be able to check these settings as well. 🙂

Additionally, you could try using a different internet connection while entering the card details. Please also make sure you're not using an VPN.

Let me know how it goes 🙂
