We have a Premium Family Plan. My husband is trying to listen to an Audiobook but he got cut off because apparently there are only a certain number of hours per month you can listen? Other than the fact that this makes zero sense (WHY???) I am trying to purchase Top-up Audiobook Hours for him. I found this information:
You can purchase top-ups with a credit/debit card or PayPal.
To top up on your account:
HOWEVER when I go to the "Subscription" there is not an "Audiobook listening time" option to select. The options are:
Available plans
Manage your plan
Manage members
I have searched in all of these segments but am unable to find the "Audiobook listening time" link that is supposed to be there. Does anyone know about how I can make this happen???
Thank you for letting me know. How disappointing! It’s not at all clear that buying top ups does not allow you to listen to all books. I don’t think I will use this function on Spotify going forwards and will switch back to audible
I can't even purchase top up hours, I just get "something went wrong" repeatedly. So even if I WANT to give Spotify my money to finish the last 3 hours of a book, I can't! So it looks like I'm now going to have to buy the book on audible just to finish it!
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out in this thread!
@laurajanefarrow - just to check, does the same error message appear if you give it a shot using an incognito window in your browser? If possible, you can also give another device or a different internet connection a try.
Let us know how you get on.
Not sure if it’s been stated already but I could only top up on the website and not in the app. Hope that helps. Agree adding this as an extra charge is poor.
Hi there @laurajanefarrow,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
We understand you weren't able to complete the purchase of the Top-up. In case you want to try again, we'd recommend first logging out from here and then trying again following the steps. You can also try using a different internet connection. Maybe mobile data from your mobile device.
We'll be here in case you still need help.
Hi I have a Premium account and for some reason the app won't let me top up my audio book time ? Can you help.llease
I bought top up hours the other day for my Spotify audiobooks and it won’t let me access it. I have the confirmation receipt in my email. Any ideas? Thanks
Hi @GingerCurls,
Thanks for the reply.
Check the active top-ups you currently have on the account page to see if it's present. If it's not visible there but you have confirmation from your payment method that you were charged, then perhaps you redeemed it on another account. If you have a Family plan, this may be more likely.
Hope this helps.
I have this same problem can anyone help
Hey @Sammyjn76,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
Could you let us know what issue you're experiencing exactly? Also, have you tried all the suggested steps in this thread?
We'll be on the lookout.
I purchased an audiobook topup on my iphone. I have done this before and it has worked, but this time it did not apply. It shows on my credit card. I have logged out and logged back in twice and I have deleted and reinstalled the app. I am still seeing the hours used up message. What can I do?
Hey @olympicpaul,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
Have you listened to any audiobooks after you purchased the top-up? If yes, is it possible that you've used it up? If you're sure you haven't, then it'd be best to reach out to the Customer Support Team so that they can have a closer look and give you more info.
Hope this helps.
I was able to ADD the top up. But it won’t allow me to use them. I already paid for it. What gives?
Hey @xRedx,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.
If the top-up was successfully purchased, you should have it active on your account. So first, we'd recommend logging out and back in to force the sync between your account and your device.
If the issue persists, since the listening hours (including the top up hours) are shared across all your devices, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Note: keep in mind that if you don’t use your 10-hour top-up in the month you bought it, it does roll over to the following month.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
How can I get unlimited Audiobooks time as I'm a trucker I listen to them a lot and paying 20 bucks every 10 hours is kinda BS in assuming there's like a subscription that allows unlimited time
I am getting the exact same message! I got cut off with 23 minutes left in my audiobook. Please Spotify, make this process easier! I don’t mind to buy the top ups, but you make it virtually impossible!!!
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
