Unable to change country settings in order to update payment method

My Question or Issue

My previous payment card has been deactivated, it was issued in Kazakhstan. I am currently in the Czech Republic and wish to change the payment method to a Czech card. However, in order to do that I need to change my location in the settings, but changing the location doesn't do anything but change the language for me, it is still set to Kazakhstan. In the guide, it is said that in order to change my location, I need to update my payment method. However, when I try to add a new card or update my payment method, all I get is an error pop-up, that my payment method doesn't match my location. What can be done in order to change the location and payment method in order to continue using spotify premium?

Thanks for reaching out.

If the language of the site changed, you've most likely only changed the country on the site, which changes the country code in the URL (e.g. /uk/ to /us/).

In your case, it's best to cancel your subscription by following the steps outlined here. Once that's done, wait until your subscription has ended so that you can manually change your account's country setting through the dropdown menu here.

You'll then be able to subscribe to Premium here using your new payment method 🙂
