Using a gift card internationally

I am currently living in China, but my Spotify account is linked to my Facebook and my credit card has a US address. Spotify is available in China, but I have a VPN. I know a gift card can only be used in America, but if I send the gift card (purchased from Amazon) to my brother in America, could he send me the code? 

If I do use a code, how would it be applied? My current trial which I believe is 9.99 for 3 months (3.33 a month) will be renewed on March 3 for the regular 9.99 a month. If I purchase a $30 gift card, will that be automatically be deducted on March 3 and give me 3 more months?

You can use a US prepaid card only when logging into a US account from a US IP address. The Premium time will be applied on top of your current Premium time. Which means that if you apply a 30$ card, you'll get 3 months immediately after your current three months expire.
