Why am I being charged $10.59 monthly for free account ?

Why am I being charged $10.59 monthly for free account ?

I signed up for free Spotify. Starting in January 2022 I have been charged $10.59 monthly. I checked my account and it says I have a free account. I did listen to 1 podcast on January on Spotify. Did this start the recurring charge ? How can I rectify the monthly charge ? Thanks, Lisa

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

Most likely you have a duplicate account on which you've signed up for a Spotify Premium trial, which turns into a regular Premium subscription if it doesn't get cancelled in the test period. Other possibilities are if a family member has used your payment method to subscribe for Premium, or it could be a case of fraud.

 

I'd recommend reaching out to our customer support team here. They'll be able to help find the account running the Premium subscription and cancel it.
