Why is the 15 free hours of audiobooks not working for me?

Why is the 15 free hours of audiobooks not working for me?

I received noticed that plan members of premium family plans get 15 free hours a month of audiobooks. However, when I go to choose titles they are showing as locked as if I have to pay for them. Are you able to advise how to utilize the free 15 hours?

Hey there,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Right now, Audiobooks in Premium is available only on select plans and is limited to plan managers. Each Duo/Family subscription only has one plan manager, the rest are members.

This means if a user joined a Duo or Family plan as a member, they won’t have access to the free listening time, but this is something that will be explored in the future to allow Family and Duo users to have more flexibility from their audiobooks access 🙂

For more info, you can also visit the following Newsroom article: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2023-10-03/audiobooks-included-in-spotify-premium/.

Hope this clears things up!

I’m sure you figured this out by now, but I had the same question; if anyone else does:

  •  titles with the lock images, you have to pay.
  • in green, it will say included in premium by titles that the 15 hours can be used for.

I am the plan manager on my premium duo account and all the audio books are showing locked?

How do I access the free 15 hours?

Hey @matmac52,

To ensure that we can offer you the best help that we can, could you please create your own thread? Doing so is easy. Simply select the appropriate board here, and then select “Start a Topic.”

Thank you very much!

This is a reply-all. So what was the answer to this question?? I have the same problem.

I am in Canada and apparently Canada doesn't have the free audio books

So 90% is locked?

I also need a step by step way to access the free listening time. I am the only one on my Premium plan. Can someone who has actually used the free time just explain it.

Thanks
