Wrong Payment location and subscription amount

Wrong Payment location and subscription amount

Hi!

 

I got some payment problems with a local card so I used a Payoneer card in my profile. It asked me to change locations so I did but then I noticed that I my subscription went from US$5.99 to £9.99 + Tax. 

 

I'm currently in El Salvador (nowhere near UK), the Payoneer card was given through a US bank and is not letting me change any of this.

 

How can I fix this?

Hey @jmzavaleta45,

 

Spotify sets their pricing in each market at the level that they believe is fair for consumers, rights holders, and Spotify, while remaining a low-margin business. If you open the Premium page in a different country, it’s possible that you'll see a higher or lower price.

 

To change your country back to El Salvador and get a cheaper pricing, you will have to update your account's payment method to a payment method from El Salvador: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/account_basics/how-can-i-change-my-country-setting/.

Thanks Maxim! I tried that but I get an error that the payment method doesn't correspond to the account's country so basically I'm in a loop. I get this when I go to Edit accounts.

I already tried cancelling the subscription but it's still giving me the same problem.

That's very odd. 

You should be able to access the dropdown menu for changing your country setting as a  Free user. I'd recommend that you cancel your subscription once again and wait for it to end. Once it has ended, try updating your country setting by following these steps.
