egift card subscription lost/erased when changing from Samsung to iPhone

For christmas 2018 I received a  6 month Spotify egift card which I activated onto my Samsung device. Worked perfectly.

Today I bought a new iphone 6. When I logged into Spotify on my new device it only shows me as a free subscriber - its like my egift card has been erased. I did initially wonder if I inadvertently linked it to a different account but I have tried every email, username & password I can think of with no luck. Another confusing issue is that my username on my email doesnt match the one on my desktop profile. Could these issues be connected? I've tried looking through the cache of my old android but its so old it wont connect to any computer (or Mac). Any suggestions?
