how to listen to seperate music on the duo plan

my partner and i recently joined the duo plan but now when i play a song it kicks him out and visa versa. how do i stop this happening?

I recommend making sure that you both are logged into your own accounts, instead of one. Once you are both using your own accounts, you'll be able to listen to music at the same time.
