Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out.

You should have no issues redeeming the Gift Card code, even if the system you're using to redeem it isn't supported by Spotify (anymore): https://spotify.com/redeem.

If you're talking about the Desktop app, however, it is unfortunately no longer supported on Windows 7. But you should still be able to use Spotify's Web Player 🙂

For more info, visit https://support.spotify.com/article/supported-devices-for-spotify/.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

I also upgraded mine to premium today. When I logged in to Spofify on my laptop (not the webplayer), I was greeted by a message that says Spofity does not support Win7 which I am using and that I upgrade OS to Win10. I dismissed the message but everything looks okay; my account setting shows that it is now Premium and I am able to set Audio Quality to "very high" which is not available previously in Free Spotify. The only "issue" is when you click on the USER icon at the top of the screen, the dropdown shows a list of items one of which is called "Unable to upgrade" . Not sure what is there to "upgrade" since account is already premium.............or not??

Hey @ertorque ,

Such issues can certainly appear, as you're using Spotify on an OS that's no longer supported. 🙂 It's also possible that it will simply stop working one day.

What I really want out of premium is the Higher quality bit rate (which I think I am getting now) and ad free environment. So it does not matter with that "Unable to upgrade" thingy that somehow lurks in the background.😀
