A playlist I follow I can only play random tracks not the one I want

My Question or Issue

The problem is across MacOS latest desktop version and my android app. I follow a playlist with +5000 tracks. However, I can only play random tracks as Spotify does not allow me to cherry pick a specific track. If I press play on a given track nothing happens (both MacOS and Android) whilst pressing NEXT does play another randomised track.

Are the songs that you are trying to play greyed out? 

Also is your shuffle on when you are pressing the next button?

The songs are not greyed out they look as they are available and the
shuffle was on indeed

At least we are able to solve one problem!

When you are selecting a song does the time stamp show that the song is playing or is it stuck on 0:00?
