An album I didn't add to library keeps reappearing in it

An album I didn't add to library keeps reappearing in it

For I think years now I've had this glitch with the un-remastered A Day at the Races by Queen - which isn't even on their profile - added to my library for some reason. I didn't add it, nor did I want to, it added it by itself and I can't really remove it. The only way I thought of and kinda works was clicking the + button and then removing it, which does work, but only for a very short while, then it reappears.

This also isn't any device's fault, it shows up everywhere.

Hey there @hesftdt94,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community! We'll gladly help you look into this further 🔍

To make sure we cover all bases, could you try saving the album to Your Library again? Once it's done, check on another device if it appears there. When/if it appear, try removing it from Your Library again & then clear stored cache from your devices.

It's also recommended to log out from the app and then back in again after completing the above steps. As odd as this may sound, completing these steps should force a resync of your account info. Feel free to give it a try when you get the chance and let us know if you notice any difference.

Another thing that comes to mind is checking the connected apps, as you mention that the album keeps reappearing. You can see if you have any 3rd party services/apps which may affect the library linked on your account page > Manage apps. Apps can be added back again at any time, so you can try removing those which you do not recognize or use.

Fingers crossed this helps! Keep us posted.

Thanks for help!

So I tried removing all 3rd party services from my account and it was still there. Then I tried clearing cache and logging out of all devices, only staying logged in on my phone, and it wasn't re-appearing. It came back as soon as I logged in again on my PC though, which led me to think it's the PC's fault, but after clearing cache there, reinstalllig the PC app - it didn't work.

I have also tried removing the album through the web version, which didn't do anything, even when I tried removing all the A Day at the Races tracks entirely from my library (since they're merged with the ones on the version I'm trying to remove), still nothing.

I've also seen other people having this issue, so I'm glad I'm not alone on this

Hi @hesftdt94,

Thanks for keeping in touch and for the info you've provided.

This might sound weird, but open the Spotify on all the devices you use and double-check if the album is not saved on any of them. Sometimes it is and the info is not syncing correctly causing this type of issues.

If that's not the case, try going to your account Overview page and Sign out everywhere

Lastly, does the album show up on Your Library on different devices, like your mobile phone, and the Web Player? Could you send us a screenshot on any of those? Or is it only on the desktop app?

If it's only on the desktop app, we recommend performing a clean reinstall by following these steps. No worries, you won't lose any saved content.

We'll be on the lookout!
