Artists are being unfollowed. Can't stop it.

My Question or Issue

Certain artists I keep following are becoming unfollowed. It's frustrating. I've tried to reinstall the app, clear cache, etc.

It's only happening with certain artists as far as I know such as:

Demon Hunter 

The Black Ghosts

Dark Sarah 

Any many more.... from my secret playlist called catching up.

In case you observe unexpected activity such as certain artists being repeatedly unfollowed on your Spotify account try performing the steps below:

1. Open the Reset Password form in a private/incognito window and create a new, strong password you haven’t used for another online service; 

2. Open your Account Page, scroll down and click on SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE. 

If the same persists after checking these steps, we suggest you head to this help page. Here you'll find useful tips on how to secure your account in case of unauthorized access.

I've changed my password and signed out everywhere. Logged back in.
Previously I've reinstalled the software too.

I've just now checked the artists I seem to be having an issue following -
and have clicked "follow" again.

I then signed out and back in again. The artists were unfollowed again.
I've now clicked follow on them all again.
They are:
Gravity Kills
Circle of dust
Rabbit Junk
Sister Machine Gun
Skold
The dead daisies
Demon Hunter
Dark Sarah
The Black Ghosts
Black math horseman
Headless horseman

I have a feeling next time I check I will be unfollowing them again.
Is it not a fault with the follow button?

I've had this same issue for months. Artists I know I have followed get unfollowed constantly. I am not signed in anywhere unauthorized, my password is secure. Unauthorized use is absolutely not the issue. I had been following thousands of artists and its like there is a secret limit to how many you can follow because I keep getting bumped back down to following 1000 artists. I listen to a lot of music, why are my follows being removed???? It is so frustrating!!!!!

At the moment there's no limit to the amount of artists you can follow. Do you notice any pattern to when the artists are being unfollowed? 

• Is an artist unfollowed as soon as you follow a new one? 
• Does this happen with every artist you try to follow, or just with specific ones?
• Have you tried following the artists from other devices? 

@Sara2808, apologies for the late reply we just came across this thread. Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, could you share the info we're requesting above?

In the past 2-3 years I've constantly kept noticing artists being unfollowed from my account. I rediscovered them accidentally and I was surprised (while checking their pages to see if they got something new) that I don't follow them anymore. I just had this situation, checked the problem and discovered this topic. For sure, it is a bug or some hidden rule, and not an account hacking or accident.
