The new beta version of blend playlists doesn't shuffle !
Just wanted to make you know.

Could you share some more details about what you're experiencing - do you mean that the Shuffle button is missing entirely or not working as expected? We'd appreciate a recording of the issue, that would allow us to take a closer look.

Thanks for getting back to us with the video.

 

Is this the only playlist where this happens? Did you have the chance to test whether or not the shuffle function works properly on other devices or in our web player?

 

In any case, we suggest you run a clean reinstall since this step can usually solve issues rendering Spotify to malfunction. You can find the necessary steps here

Hi,

It's only about the new "Made for two" blend playlists (beta version).
On every device. even my friends with whom I share the playlist ca'nt shuffle.
So this doesn't seems to be a device or app problem !

Yes I tried, nothing changed.

Android app version is 8.6.28.700

Windows version is 1.1.59.712.g54f36e5d-a

We understand you already sent a video, but we'd also like to ask for a screenshot where we can confirm one more time that the Shuffle button is on. We'll forward your information to the teams in charge.

Yes this is the only problem. I'm actually really happy with this new feature ! It's great !

This is a new feature that we're trying out. We're always testing possible improvements, and we'll make sure to pass your comments on to the right folks. For now, we'd recommend keeping your app up to date so you don't miss out on any fix.

 

Since you mentioned that your friends are also having this issue, feel free to invite them to leave all of their info in this thread. The more info we gather, the better.

My Question or Issue

I have a Spotify Blend playlist with a mate and I've noticed that it doesn't shuffle at all. I've tried reinstalling the app, trying to shuffle through the app, none of that works. Every time I play the playlist it plays in order, even when the shuffle button is on.

Also, could you send over some screenshots or a video where we can confirm that the Shuffle is on and the order of the songs? You can attach them using the Insert Photos or Insert Video option in the post editor.

Yes, this is the only problem I've experienced with the playlist.

I attached two pictures, one with shuffle on and the other with shuffle off. As you can see, the order stays the same in both pictures.

Yep, same issue here. Happens on all blend playlists, on both iOS and macOS desktop, the shuffle button doesn’t shuffle the playlist. I’ve included screenshots showing the shuffle button being on, the queue showing the upcoming songs, and the playlist page, showing that the “shuffled” queue is not shuffled at all.

Thank you for posting on this thread!

 

We've reviewed the screenshots you sent, but it seems like the Shuffle function is toggled off (the button appears gray). When you activate Shuffle, the icon will appear green. 

 

Can you try again, making sure it is properly toggled on and let us know how it works?

Weird, I could’ve sworn I attached screenshots of it shuffled! Anyway here’s the correct ones. As you can see, it shuffles the playlist a little bit, swapping one or two songs, but it never really fully shuffles properly, even if you toggle shuffle on and off several times.

It seems like apart from one song, all the rest are shuffled. Could you please confirm if you get the same results if you do this from a different device? 

 

Also, does the other person you share the Blend with have the same issue?
