My Question or Issue

I just noticed a song that has been on my playlist for over a year has suddenly changed in content. It 100% used to have explicit language and content, now when I listen to it, it is all blurred out. I assume this means the artist has replaced the song from their end as I cannot find any explicit versions on their artist page.

My issue/question is, does that mean, any song that I have already saved in my library can be changed by the artist, or you without any kind of notification? Because to me, in essence it is now no longer the same song. While I'm not even that bothered for this particular song, I'm more intrigued that a whole bunch of other songs can be changed at any time.

Hi there @j0rdan0c0nn0r,

thanks for reaching out to the community !

Spotify is an open platform for artists to upload their content.

As they and their recoed lables are the only ones responsible for the presented content on their artist pages, they can most definitely change it.

Hope this sheds some light and answers your question 🙂
