[Desktop][Search] Playlist song searching.

[Desktop][Search] Playlist song searching.

Hello, there's probably a similar post out there considering this, but with playlists over 1,000 songs it doesn't tell you whether you've already added a song before you add it to that playlist anymore, and this is something that I think could be fixed but is not an immediate problem, there is one more idea I had in coming here, again with very large playlists it's hard to find songs you've had more than once on, (I want a large playlist with 1 of every song I like) In wanting this, I was wondering if there was a way that you all could make a built-in search bar at the top of people's playlists making it to where you can search for songs that are already on these playlists.

Hey @uqapuzof5ggt6x2kvu53,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we'd like you to know that the suggestion you kindly posted is already implemented in the desktop app. You can search for a specific song in a playlist by using the search tool available within a playlist. You can find it next to the sorting options and it looks like this:

Once you've selected it, you'll see a bar in which you can write down the name of a song, album, or artist you're searching for. It looks like this:

On another note, we can confirm you'll always receive a pop-up message, warning if you've already added a given song to a playlist. Keep in mind that sometimes different versions of the same album are uploaded to our catalog by artists.

It's possible that you added different versions of the same song to the same playlist and that would explain why you didn't receive the warning. It's up to the artist to decide the content they want to upload to our catalog and some of them decide to upload different versions of the same album.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.

Cheers!
