Hey @user-removed,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Could you try to log out of everywhere > restart your devices > log back in to see if that makes any difference for you?

If that still doesn't work as expected on your account, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app on the affected devices. It'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and fixes and remove any corrupted files from previous installations.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

it's still the same playlists and songs that are being shown since two months and i can't stand them. Usually it's our "recentry listened" that are being shown up there but it's still the same old stuff from two months ago. I don't know if there is a way to chose our own playlists/songs that we want but i don't want to see those playlists/songs for the rest of the year !

I'm having this issue also and have tried all suggested fixes to no avail. It's only the first 6 cards that are frozen on my tastes a month or two ago. I can only see stuff updating in recently played which is further down the home screen (am I in a broken A/B test?). So same issue as OP I think.

Steps ive taken:

Sign out everywhere, restart all devices.

Clean reinstall on android. I could not find instructions for clean reinstalling on mac & Linux laptop

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing this info.

The relevant team has been notified about this issue, however we can't confirm when it will be addressed. In the meantime, please make sure to keep your app up-to-date.

Thanks for understanding.

Could you make sure Facebook data and Tailored ads are enabled here? This fixed it for me. Please note that you have to wait for around a week for the changes to take effect (it could happen faster). https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Home-Screen-Glitches/td-p/5377930

My Question or Issue

At the top of my home page screen, both on mobile and desktop app, the same 4 albums have been suggested for months without refreshing. 3 of the albums I listened to once (over 4 months ago), and yet they are still the first thing I see whenever I open spotify. Is there a reason my home page is not updating/refreshing?!

Hey @Rswin10,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Recommendations on the home page usually update when the algorithm has been able to gather enough data on your listening activity, but sometimes it can seem to be stuck if nothing changes.

First up, we'd recommend logging out and then logging back in two times in a row on your phone. It sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device.

It's also a good idea to try following some new artists/ playlists and listening to music via the search option a few days. This should refresh your recommendations and the cards that appear on your home page.

If the issue persists after a while, we'd suggest performing a clean reinstall of the app with the steps here. It'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and fixes and will remove any corrupted files from previous installations that might be interfering with the app's performance on your device.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Hey, thanks for your response.

I've tried all of your suggestions, but it still stays the same.

I'll do the clean reinstall a few more times, but I'm not optimistic haha. I use the app every day and listen to a wide variety of music so I think it unlikely that the algorithm things that nothing is changing, especially since it has been like this since January. Also, I regularly listen to new artists/playlists/albums and listen via the search option.

I think I will just have to get used to it for now.

Thank you again!

Same issue here.

This was happening to me. It seems like the fix is actually a glitch. Follow these steps and your Spotify home page should refresh like normal with recently added updating:

1. Log in to your Spotify account on the web

2. Go to Account

3. Select Privacy settings

4. Under the Manage your data section, make sure Tailored ads and Facebook data are both toggled ON. I had both turned off cause I didnโ€™t care to get tailored ads or have Spotify processing my Facebook data but for some reason when you have those toggled off, your home page will freeze and your recently played at the top will not refresh. After turning both back on, my homepage is now back to normal and refreshing like normal.

Hope this helps.

This fixed it for me. Thanks! Hopefully they pay attention and fix this bug.

It worked. Thanks very much.

My Question or Issue

For the last couple of weeks the 8 playlists at the top of my homescreen have remained the same whereas they used to update with what I've been listening to. I've tried a clean re install but nothing helps. Any ideas anyone? (In the attachment you'll see the 8 playlists at the top that no longer change) Thanks in advance for any help.

My recently played hasnโ€™t been updating for a month or more. It will update one song a day, Iโ€™ve updated my Spotify 3 times and every time I update it my recently played messes up. Is anyone else having this issue ??

The amount of podcasts (which make up at most 5% of my Spotify use) seen in the Main Home Screen (see screenshots) is unacceptably high. I know "some" podcast content has to be included there, but it should be two sections at most. It's Friday, day of releases, Home used to be full of new music recommendations for artists I follow and similar ones, now it's almost only podcasts. The Home screen has been like this, almost exclusively made of podcasts, for three days now for me I think. The new releases menu and Release Radar are fine, all the followed artists' releases and recommended ones are there as expected, but the Home screen situation is unacceptable. The Music section of the Home screen is also not updated to show new releases.

The New Music Friday suggested playlist are not at all within my taste and I hardy ever used these particular playlists. Friday and weekend Home used, and should be, all about new music catered for me. It usually had almost exclusively New Releases for me, presented in a variety of categories.

I thought the app glitched and so I performed a clean reinstall only to see that it is likely by design.

If it is by design, then it is unacceptable. If it is a partly glitched state of the app because of an upcoming update or whatever, then please do fix this ASAP.

Attaching screenshots to illustrate the Issue.

Besides - the main page content does not refresh/change during the day at all. Sometimes even for two days in a row. That's why I still partly think this is all some kind of a glitch?
