How to "sync" songs

So I added a song to my Spotify playlist from my Mac, but it doesn't show up on my iPhone, and when I try to play it using Spotify connect it says something like this song isn't saved. How do I get the song on my phone

If you're having difficulties syncing your local files to your phone, we'd recommend you check out this Spotify Answer and follow the steps. Just a heads-up, local files aren't supported by Spotify Connect.

Should your local files still remain unplayable on your phone and desktop devices, just give us a shout and we'll look into it further.

I just thought it might be worthwhile noting that syncing FLAC files does not seem to work.

I had some local FLAC files in a playlist that just wouldn't sync to my mobile. So what I did was I replaced the FLACs with MP3s in my local files directory and after that syncing worked a treat.
