Liked Songs playlist doesn't play songs

Spotify will not play songs from my Liked songs playlist. It’s only the Liked songs playlist that doesn't play songs - others are fine. When I try to click on a song it stops anything else that is playing but does not start playing any new track. There are no error messages.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Android 14. I have no SD card.

Spotify 9.0.14.561. Premium subscription.

Other devices are fine.

Clean reinstall does not work (including checking for co.spotify.music files etc.).

Other users have the same problem and have been for a number of years. The issue comes and goes but always comes back.

I have tried to get Spotify Support to fix this many times and they have never been able to. I always get passed from one person to the next over many days, each one starting again asking me the same questions. Whenever I raise this, the support person abandons me, cutting me off without saying anything, then I get passed to yet another person who starts again asking the same questions. There is clearly no accountability or tracking resolutions with Spotify Support staff. So far, every one of the following support staff has done this:

Identified the bug. TLDR; it's a shuffle with discovery problem. I have a similar problem on Google Pixel 7. Spotify can't play any songs from the like list directly. Seems like a genuine bug.

• Only reproducible when shuffle with discovery is toggled on
• Songs don't play or give any feedback when clicked
• The "..." menu for songs opens.
• Songs from the like list can be played indirectly by starting a song from elsewhere (e.g. another playlist) first, then adding a song from the like list to the queue via the "..." menu.
• Toggling shuffle with discovery on while a song is already playing from the liked list stops the currently song immediately and closes the Now Playing.

The GUI isn't merely slow. It responds quickly for scrolling, opening the "..." menu or selecting items therein, and correctly plays queued songs. But it's completely unresponsive to clicking songs, no matter the amount of time. Hence this doesn't fit a performance issue. 

This suddenly became a problem a month or so ago, and note I've only expanded my Like list by ~5% over the past year. Hence the size of the list shouldn't be a factor unless, there's a hard limit of likes above which the logic breaks.
