My Question or Issue
My liked songs by some specific artists, such as Radiohead, are not showing up on albums anymore, as seen in the attached video. These songs appear in my library, but when I open the artist's page and browse the albums, the likes are gone. If i like the songs again, they are duplicated in my library.
In this example, there seems to be two versions of the album 'The Bends'. If I copy the link for the one with my liked songs, it's https://open.spotify.com/album/500FEaUzn8lN9zWFyZG5C2?si=O9zg7nsATZ6PupexSTz7UA, and if I copy the link for the one without my liked songs, it's https://open.spotify.com/album/35UJLpClj5EDrhpNIi4DFg?si=Sa1mOBWAQESszhC0LgROYw. So it seems the albums are being replaced, but my liked songs aren't being transferred. Is there any fix for this issue?
Hey @AlexKForte,
Help’s here!
Can you confirm if you still observe this after running a clean reinstall of Spotify on both the affected devices? We recommend this since it gives you a fresh version of the Spotify app with all necessary updates and removes old corrupted data that could cause issues.
Another thing to check is if you experience this when connecting to a different network. If it works with another connection, it's best to contact the service provider of the original network for more information.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
I tried to perform a clean reinstall and connect from a different network, but the problem persists.
Hi again @AlexKForte,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you let us know if this is happening with all artists or is it only this specific one?
If possible, could you log into your account using a different device to see if you can replicate the issue?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Hi @AlexKForte,
Thanks for letting us know that.
The behavior you're describing can happen when an album gets reuploaded by the distributors. If they have different metadata or URIs which they have in this specific case, the app will check backstage to link to the accurate track, but it will currently miss to transfer the liked status to the newer version.
We've provided guidelines to distributors of what they can do to keep tracks fully in sync and basically overwrite old versions, but we know this is something that occurs. For now we suggest that you unlike the "old" track in the liked songs or saved album and replace it with the new one.
We'll keep working on improving this experience moving forward and advise that you keep the app up to date with the latest version so that you don't miss out on any fixes.
If you have any questions, just let us know!
