My Question or Issue
For what purpose was the font size of the playlist description changed in 8.6.80?
Now the playlist description does not contain text that could previously fit in this field. Among other things, it is striking and just looks ugly. Is it forever now?
Hi @Efremych,
Thank you for sharing your post on the Community!
We checked this from our side and didn't notice any change on the font size, since that is handled mostly by the phone's settings. If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size, you should be able to change the size of the text.
Another thing to consider is that if a playlist's description is too long, the mobile app won't show the full description. However, from the desktop app you still can see it all.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Hi @MafeG,

I have a minimum text size in my settings. I have never changed this setting.
However, from the desktop app you still can see it all.
I know that the size of this field is larger in the desktop app.
Another thing to consider is that if a playlist's description is too long, the mobile app won't show the full description.
As an example, I gave the description of the Release Radar playlist. Is this playlist description too long? A couple of days ago, for some reason, I could read on which day this playlist is updated.

This situation is observed not only on my iPhone. The larger the screen size of the device, the more text will fit in the playlist description. But whatever the screen size, all the text does not fit(Release Radar, Discover Weekly). The awkwardness of the font is especially striking in personal playlists.
All this caught my eye when I first opened the application after updating to version 8.6.80. Coincidence?
Perhaps there is a dependence on the user's language. Server? But, the fact that there is a problem is a fact. I was shown a screenshot of the application, where the description of the playlist is in English - everything is correct there.
Every second update of the application brings new bugs. I was expecting something similar when I installed the update. But I would like the error correction not to take 3 weeks, as it usually happens for the last couple of months.
Here are 2 screenshots of a spotify support test account with different language settings. But despite the fact that here the text is placed in English, the font is changed. On my account, changing the language in the settings does not help.
Previously, there were no problems with the Russian language in the application.
I get the feeling that I am using some kind of unsuccessful server. How can I get everything back to what it was a couple of days ago?
No it did not at all.
Hey @Efremych,
Thanks for your posts.
This may be dependent on the size of the screen and the font/language that is being used. However, we appreciate your feedback on the matter and we'll make sure to pass it on to the right folks,

Hi, @CarlosE
This may be dependent on the size of the screen and the font/language that is being used.
There was no such dependence a week ago. Am I correct in understanding that the current behavior is the result of improved functionality and now everything is correct? That is, the developers felt that the layout of the interface should not adapt to the phone screen?
Now even an iPhone12 cannot display the entire text (including in English). Which screen has the most acceptable dependence, maybe i should buy a new phone - which one?
I was hoping that the next update of the application would fix the situation, but nothing has changed.

I want to return an app that I enjoyed using. For the last few months I have to fight for this, waste my nerves and time. Since each subsequent update of the application introduces new bugs.
If you log out from the application and log in again, you can observe the correct display for a few seconds (including the neat "Add Tracks" button, but I suppose there is no way to return it). The same device with the same dependency.
P.S. One of the main advantages of Spotify, I considered the application. And I used the application for a year and a half. Now I just hate to use it.
it seems that 8.6.84 fixed the issue. I hope this is not a temporary fix.
And there was a new bug related to the font of the text in the names of personal playlists. But you can live with it - I will not describe it. Otherwise it will suddenly become worse after the next fix. I think the developers themselves will find out sooner or later.
