Hello @VladBusca welcome to the community!!!!

Have you tried this?

- Download the app on your desktop, and open Spotify.
- Log in and do your thing.
- Pick any playlist you please and hover over the cover. Or in other words, find a playlist you want to customize the cover and put your mouse over the cover, do not click it because you will just be playing music.
- Next, there should be a pencil in the middle and click on that. A pop-up will show up. - First there is a box if you want to change your playlist name. The second box is titled, "Image" and it will have your original image, then on the bottom it will say, "CHOOSE YOUR IMAGE". You want to click that and find any images that you find appropriate for your playlist.
- I suggest thinking about what pictures you want to download or save before you do all of this because this saves you in the long run.
- Once you have selected an image from your file, click "open" and then your cover should be changed.
- On the right side of the pop up, it will say to give a description about your playlist. - -- You do not have to do this but it is helpful for other people to know what kind of music they are going to be listening to or just to express how this playlist makes you feel and so on.

Hi Agustin. Are you teaching on how to upload a cover image on a playlist? Thanks, but I know that very well. My issue is that after ulpoading the new one, Spotify reverts my cover to the old one.

Hi @VladBusca,

Make sure to try some basic troubleshooting such as adding a few songs to the playlist, remaking the playlist, and reinstalling Spotify before giving it a go again.

Also, are you having the same problem with all your playlists, or just a specific one? Some screenshots would help me to understand what is happening too.

Thank you

Hi guys. I really appreciate your input, but I'd need feedback only for people that experienced this and solve it somehow. I'm using Spotify for 9 years and updating playlists weekly. My thought was that maybe my cover images are two small or too big, tried all jpg sizes already. 1280x1280 or other as well (I've read somewhere that 1280 is optimal). Doesn't work.

Just to mention that after a day or two, the cover image is eventually displayed correctly. The issue is that I cannot wait one day after update to share in social media etc.

Here a movie with the issue, I hope I can paste the link here: https://youtu.be/hVGOAqSMpQ0

Thanks for the video, it helps me understand the situation more clearly.

I will recommend this issue to a specialist who will help you better.

Thank you for your patience and have a nice day.

Hey there @VladBusca,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community!

So we can better troubleshoot this, could you let us know if this only occurs in that particular device?

If so, please try first the following steps:

  • Restart your device
  • Log out and back in your account
  • Perform a clean reinstall of the app on that device by following the steps here

If that doesn't do the trick, you can also try create a new playlist with the same songs and see if the issue perists in that one as well.

Let us know how you get on!

Thanks. I had a separate and direct discussion with Spotify and it seems that the issue was solved somehow.

Thanks for letting me know, although I didnt help too much. Dont hesitate to use the community if you have any other problems! Thank you, and have a nice day.

Hello,

I'm having the same issue when it coes to my playlists. I read the suggestion that I could create a new playlist but realized that that would take away the people following the playlist.

I have this problem too. I know how to change the picture. I wanted to change the playlist picture to a new one i do and it stays as the new one for a bit. Then i click a new playlist and i go back and the playlist cover is back to the one i had before and i dont know why this is happening.

Same thing is happening to me. It's really bugging me.

I was experiencing this bug/issue on Spotify for Windows 10, premium account. Performing a clean reinstallation of the program corrected this problem. Hope this helps others in the future.

Hello,

Today I was having this same issue.  I found it helpful to first remove the artwork from the playlist (remembering to save it that way), and then to re-add it after this.  Same for playlist descriptions.

I have the same issue, any help? Tried all the suggestions didn't work.

lol

I have what is probably the same issue. One person said the image updates after a few days. My image updates immediately for me within the app itself. However if I click share to Facebook Messenger (or Facebook, or Skype) the artwork appearing the share dialog is yesterday's artwork. If it eventually works this is obviously an eventual consistency problem.

Hey there @ralden

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

Just to double-check, have you tried the clean reinstall that @GabeValentine suggested? We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. It'll also get you the latest version of Spotify.

To perform the clean reinstall steps, simply head to this help page.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Hey there. I had this issue.

What you'll want to do is save the same JPEG with two different file names. Upload one and save it, then upload the other and save it. You're basically tricking it, because it'll still revert to the previous version, but they're both the same so it won't matter 😛

I more or less did that. I figured it was paying attention to the name of the file. Hot tip Spotify engineers; pay attention to a sha256 hash of the file instead. You should not be paying any attention to the file "name" that comes from the upload. It's really amazing this has not been fixed for so many years.
