Device iPhone 13 Pro iOS 17.6.1
MacOS 14.6.1
Macbook Air 2022 M2
Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.42.290.g242057a2
I created a new playlist using the "desktop" application on a MacBook Air (Sonoma 14.6.1).
I have tried to access this playlist on my iPhone for hours, but it does not appear.
Never had this problem before and can't seem to find a solution in this community.
Help appreciated.
Hey there @jkpalmer0352,
Thanks for posting on the Community!
Just to check, do you notice any difference after clearing stored cache from the app? Once it's done, try logging out from the app and then back in again twice in a row on both devices. As odd as these steps may sound, completing them should resync your account info. It will also ensure that you're logged into the same account on both devices. When you log back in again, just make sure to use the same login details.
It's also worth checking so that the Spotify app is up-to-date on both your Mac and on your iPhone. Feel free to check the steps for each device by heading over here.
If that doesn't do the trick, could you send us photos showing how the playlist/Your Library appears on your computer compared to on your phone? Also, are you able to see the playlist on the Web Player?
Let us know how it goes!
Hey there @jkpalmer0352,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
In this case, it might be worth performing a clean reinstall of the app on the affected devices. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure any cache leftovers are leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.
If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to confirm:

My Question or Issue
This issue is not isolated to macbooks and is definitely a Spotify issue. There should be no reason to clear cache to fix this. Spotify - acknowledge the problem and fix it.
Could not agree with you more.
The tech world always tries to get the customer to fix the issue rather than getting their company to fix their product.
Their solution is always too complicated and their instructions don't match the product.
If I had a better alternative I would choose it, but I have gone through different products and they all have issues.
Hey everyone,
Thank you for your messages.
In order to look into this further with the relevant team, and in case you haven't sent it yet; let us know the following info:
- Your device info (make/model) and OS version
- Exact Spotify version
Also, and if possible; could any of you record a short video of that behavior? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We appreciate your patience and cooperation regarding this. We'll be on the lookout.

A playlist created using the MacBook Air application sometimes takes quite a bit of time (> 30 minutes) before it appears on my iPhone.
Hey @jkpalmer0352,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
To continue investigating this internally with the relevant team, @donniemac and @deezerdoesntdothis would you mind sending the info previously requested as well?
Also, could any of you confirm if using the Web Player to create the playlist has the same behavior as if you do it on the desktop app?
We appreciate your patience, cooperation and the time you're taking reporting this issue.
We'll be on the lookout.
This is happening to me too. Created a playlist on desktop app (windows 10) and doesn't show on mobile app (Samsung S20 FE and LG V60) but can play the song on the mobile app<>desktop app.
Not risking clearing cache or reinstalling as I have to download >2000 songs on both mobile devices.
Spotify on both mobile 8.9.74.568
Spotify windows (64 bit) 1.2.45.454.gc16ec9f6
Update: the playlist showed up on mobile after 30 min, but I couldn't download. Had to manually add the playlist on my library first before I could download. I thought it's automatically added to the library when creating a playlist since it was me who created it.
For others looking for an easier solution, if you have your playlists in folders like I do, I found moving the playlist to a different folder made it show up on my phone, after it didn't for almost 24 hours
