Public Playlist not searchable?

Public Playlist not searchable?

Playlists i've created are not showing up via the search, the names are spelled correctly, the playlists are public and not collaborative, I have them added to my profile as well. Regardless of which version of Spotify I use (Desktop app and website as well as mobile.) I can't seem to find the playlists as it just says "No results found for ____." Any help at all would be great as i'm trying to use this playlist for work but am not able to login on the device used for spotify.

Hi there @Jehsee,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We'd like to take a closer look into this.

Can you send us the URI of the playlist so that we can have a closer look directly from our end?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Hi,

I have the same problem. I would like to share this playlist with people, but they cannot find it even if they type in the exact name. Unfortunately sending links to everyone individually is not an option for me... Would be great if Spotify could fix this.

Secondly, a relatively new problem is that they cannot find my profile altogether. About a year ago people could still find me.

Hey @Koalabear1,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

The search results may vary depending on each user since the results shown are based on the listening history. This can mean that not everyone could see the same results looking for playlists or usernames.

We've run the test from our side and we were able to find the playlist by typing part of the name in the search bar. It's the first result of the suggestions.

Since the results displayed when searching for usernames can also vary for each user, an alternative to find a profile is to use the format spotify:user:USERNAME in the search bar. However, keep in mind that you can always share your profile link with the users you want.

We hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

hi there! i was wondering if i could get some help as well as i have run into a similar problem. i've made a curated playlist which has a book title so theres multiple playlists with the same, and its not appearing in the search results alongside those playlists of the same name. i would really like my playlist to be among those search results for easier discovery. and the thing is i've had this playlist public and displayed on my profile for months. any help would be great thanks!

Hey there @rinezhas,

Thanks for the post.

As @Julian has clarified above, search results for public playlists are influenced by the number of followers a playlist has in general. There are millions of playlists on Spotify and sometimes thousands share the same exact name, so the system filters out the ones which aren't so popular.

Currently there is no way to manually influence this. What you can do is share the playlist on social media to gain more followers.

Hope this helps.

The issue here is, because everyone can make loads of playlists, Spotify doesn't want to make them searchable. Therefore Alexa and people searching for it won't find it.

Peoples playlists aren't searchable, they have to share them to individuals. Surely you should know that?
