Radio Playlist does not exist?

Country: Sweden

Subscription: Premium

Device: Iphone X

OS: latest update 14.3

Spotify version: 8.5.86.739

My Question or Issue

I listened to a song that I really liked so I wanted to hear similar songs and clicked “go to radio”. I then got this error message, what does it mean?

Error message:

“This playlist was deleted

Remove link from Your library ?”

Would share a photo but the community does not support jpeg which is what the printscreen in IOS is.

Hi there @Isabelleedlund,

Joining @Jeremy and @Alex to bring you some more news!

Looks like what you've experienced is due to the fact there aren't any similar artists listed for the one you mentioned.

This and the fact that it's the similar artists that are used to build the track pool for artist/song radio should shed some light on what you reported.

Hope you'll find this info useful. In the meantime, we'll be here if there's anything else we can help with.

Cheers!

Hey @Isabelleedlund,

Thank you for your reply and taking the time to upload the screenshot.

Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

It would also be great if you can log in with another account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persist.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Hey,

I have now done both, deleted the app, reinstalled it, tried on a friends
phone and when trying to start radio from the song it does not work.
I now tried with other songs and it works.

The song I’m trying to make a radio of is ilumina with mendrix.

Any ideas?

Can you send us a link/URI to the song, so we know exactly which track you're talking about.

Awesome, thank you @Jeremy and @Mario for answering to my question 🙂

I expected as much. Was just that the message was rather unclear so wanted
to be sure.

Maybe change the message so it’s more clear what is happening?

Have a great day 🙂

Hey I am having a similar issue, where if I try to create any radio playlist, it starts playing the first song but then automatically says the playlist is empty as it is playing music. I can even briefly view the playlist before this happens. Same thing happens on my pc and this randomly started to happen earlier today.

Hey @unheardurchin,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

Could you let us know the following:

  1. Your device's make, model and operating system. Since you mentioned this occurs even on your PC, feel free to include information about it as well.
  2. The versions of Spotify on your phone and PC.
  3. The troubleshooting steps you've tried so far so we avoid repeating them.

Does this issue occur when you have both Spotify on your phone and on your PC open? Could you try starting a radio from your phone (make sure Spotify isn't running on your PC or any other devices) to see if the issue is still present?

If you haven't already, try reinstalling both apps by following the steps here to see if that does the trick.

Keep us posted on this.

Cheers!
